Dr. Barber has enhanced the human experience by showing the nation that just because someone is different they are still human. The staff at the Barber National Institute still carry on her traditions and beliefs today, by working with adults and children with mental and physical handicaps.

They were shown how to combine these two very different worlds into one.

My children attended the daycare and pre-school programs at the Barber Center, i feel that they are no stronger people because they do not look at others with disabilities as different!
